Wilson, Agnes
Dr A. Edgar in his social history, Old Church Life in Scotland, alleged that Agnes Wilson was a vagrant woman, and the 'tozie drab' referred to in 'The Jolly Beggars'. She had a bad reputation, and there is a reference to her in a Mauchline Kirk Session minute dated 6th March 1786 'as being of lewd and immoral practices' and being 'haunted and entertained by... George Gibson', the landlord of Poosie Nansie's. Dr Edgar also alleged that she was the 'jurr' referred to in 'Adam Armour's Prayer'.
