Scott, William
An Edinburgh bookbinder whose name appears as one of the subscribers of the 1780 edition of Burns's poems. He had some connection with James Scott, another Edinburgh bookbinder of the same period. Burns wrote to William Scott on 24th May 1787 ordering 'ordinary bound copies' of the 1787 edition of his poems, one 'to Miss Ainslie at Berriwelle, Dunce', the other for Mr Gibb, 'Farmer in Stodrigg, near Kelso'.
