Earnock Manuscript
The correspondence between Gilbert Burns and the publishers, Messrs Cadell and Davis, over Gilbert's edition of Burns's Life and Work. It also includes correspondence about Dr Currie's edition, Cromek's Reliques, and letters from, among others, George Thomson. The manuscripts were bound by Sir John Watson Bart., of Earnock, after whose death in 1889, they were sold by auction and taken to America. Volumes 7 and 8 of the Burns Chronicle contain details of the collection and reprint the Gilbert Burns/Cadell and Davis letters.
