Dawson, Mrs
An old lady from Paisley whom Burns met in West Lothian at the start of his Highland tour. He described her in his Journal as 'Like old Ldy W[auchope] and still more like Mrs C--, her conversation is pregnant with strong sense and just remark, but, like them a certain air of self-important and a duresse in the eye, seem to indicate, as the Ayrshire wife observed of her cow, that 'she had a mind of her ain'.
