Dalswinton
A mansion which belonged to Burns's Llandlord at Ellisland, Patrick Miller. It lay on the other side of the River Nith, on the former site of the Red Comyn's castle. On Dalswinton Loch the first steam boat, designed by William Symington, was launched by Miller on 14th October 1788, and tradition alleges that Burns was one of the passengers.
